I've been hiding for the last 2 weeks...enjoying the family and getting a lot done around the house. I've also been purposely staying away from the blog because there was a secret running around the house that I wasn't sure I could contain if I got anywhere near the blog.
I've been fighting with WW and suspected something was up, and then an old friend didn't show up. So here it is: I'm pregnant. *laughs* I'm happy, Dean's warming up to the idea, and Poppa just wants a boy. All we want is a healthy baby, but if it happens to be a girl that would be great because I've a lot of clothes for a girl. ;)
It's really funny because every time Dean gets a raise or I lose weight I end up pregnant. His first words to me after getting that promotion were, "I hope you're not pregnant". That just might have tempted fate a bit too much. ;)
Yay!! I wondered last night when I saw your status message set to "...keeping a secret," but didn't want to ask because I figured you might could be easily tempted to give it up!
ReplyDeleteGreat news! I hope the girls aren't too disappointed! haha Didn't you say that Nadine called you 'silly mama'? :D
Thanks! :) I told Dean he'd really be upset if he'd have gotten the appointment for the vasectomy. Imagine recovering from that and finding out your wife is pregnant a few days later. LOL He does say I have to get him an appointment for the next time he's home or he's not coming home. ;)
ReplyDeleteNadine is surprisingly into it. She's talking about holding the baby, feeding the baby, and has told me the baby crib can go in her room. She told me she can't wait to grow up and be a mommy with her own baby.
Claudia just said "no no baby no mommy"...her days of being the baby of the house are numbered, poor thing.
It's totally unplanned, obviously, but I'm happy. I can't greet the news of a coming baby with anything other than happiness. Dean made me take the test twice because the control line wasn't very dark the first time...he's not thrilled but he's coming around. I think he'll be excited when the shock wears off.
Congratulations!!! I know you are excited. And Dean will come around. Just give him time to accept it. I'm glad to know that Nadine is happy, but Claudia may be THE problem in the house. That is one strong-willed child. And that's not necessarily a bad thing... growing up Burlison. Some people would say that's the only way to survive it... lol. Anyway, eventually, they will all come around to the idea of a new one in the house. Congrats again!
ReplyDeleteOh, BTW, it's funny. the first 3 letters of the word verification to post this is: EPT... I snickered.
Thanks Lena! :) Yep, I'm excited. Dean's coming around, but he's not admitting how fast he's coming around...LOL! The first appointment he gets to go to with me will seal the deal; seeing that little blob on the screen always does. ;) I was looking around online for maternity clothes because I just donated what I had left, saw some on clearance, and Dean said to pick a couple of shirts and a pair of pants. If he was still upset he'd have never gone along with it because I won't need them for a bit yet.
ReplyDeleteAs for Claudia, I'm not that worried. We went to walmart today to pick up some odds and ends and Claudia was pointing at every baby she saw..."mommy look! A baby like yours!" She's just beginning the mommy/baby doll play too.
As for strong willed, Nadine can take the cake there anytime she chooses. Claudia is stubborn but breaks easily if tempted. Nadine will take a small thing and make it into an all-day affair. I do think she will have the harder adjustment because by the time the baby's born she'll have been the "baby" for almost 3 years. Nadine kind of knows what's going to happen, you know? Claudia's little world is going to fall apart, but somehow I don't think she'll give up first place quite so easily...LOL!
EPT...that's funny! I put the pregnancy into my babycenter account and the first thing that comes up is "check out how fraternal twins look in the womb". Dean's had a dream about twins that freaked him a bit, and for some reason I've had this odd dream for years that if I have a boy it'll come with a bonus girl twin...I'll be happy to finally see Kumi and my ONE baby...lol!
